Accessibility

We want getaequa.com to work for everyone, including people using screen readers, keyboards, magnification or reduced motion.

The standard we aim for

WCAG 2.2 at level AA, the level the New Zealand Government Web Accessibility Standard asks of Public Service departments. This covers the whole site, including the Rules Navigator.

What we do

  • Text and controls are designed to meet AA colour contrast in both light and dark modes.
  • Everything is designed to work with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline.
  • Motion is limited, plays once, and is switched off when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • The site follows your device's light or dark setting, and you can change it.
  • We check pages with automated tools and by keyboard. A full independent audit hasn't been done yet.

Known limits

The product screens on the homepage are illustrations of a sample agency. Each has a text description, but some detail inside them is visual only.
